Parenting Workshop Bundle
To nourish your baby's brain and support your changing parent brain, it's important to understand the neuroscience behind what both you and your baby need during this time. In the past year, I hosted three evidence-based neuroscience workshops to help us gain a better understanding of our individual and relational needs during this important time and learn tools and strategies to promote optimal health and development.
As the year comes to a close and a new one begins, I'm offering all three courses individually or as a bundle for purchase until January 8th, 2024!

Know Your Baby’s Brain to Grow Your Baby’s Brain
Early years matter for your baby’s brain development and lifelong mental health.
-
For decades, low nurturing, anti-nurturing, harsh, authoritarian parenting has been dominant and mainstream. This parenting can influence brains to develop powerful fear and stress within the nervous system. It can influence humanity to be reactive, aggressive, and anxious.
Nurturing, brain-healthy, authoritative parenting can change our whole world. It can influence brains with regulated emotional and cognitive circuitry. It can influence humanity to be more peaceful, kind, thoughtful, creative and empathetic
This 90-minute online workshop is designed to help you understand your baby’s brain so that you will know how to attend to their needs in a way that protects their development, physically and mentally. You will learn evidence-based information that will act as your parenting north star, including: -
> The reality of mental health in our culture and how we can support our child's mental health from infancy and beyond.
> Infant brain physiology and how to support development.
> How infant's brains use adult brains for co-regulation.
> How stress differs in an adult and in a baby
> How to use a nurtured presence and nurtured empathy to grow your baby’s brain.
> The 6 stages of consciousness for a baby. -

How to Nurture Your Changing Parent Brain
Manage the Overwhelm of Parenting with Neuroplasticity.
-
Caregiving requires a lot of emotional and physical energy. Often, we find ourselves parenting from an empty cup, which makes it challenging to parent in the way we had envisioned for ourselves and our children. We often feel overwhelmed and our emotions are out of control.
When our cups are full, we feel comfortable, safe, and capable of dealing with daily stressors without becoming overwhelmed, depleted, or anxious. We feel grounded, flexible, creative, open, curious, present, and well-regulated. We can maintain boundaries without shutting down and be warm and connected to our children and the important people in our lives.
However, when our cup is empty, we are more likely to react to stressors with fight, flight, or freeze responses. We may become reactive and impulsive, yell or lash out, withdraw and avoid, and take others' behaviours personally. Our actions are not aligned with who we want to be. -
> Discover a range of practical tools and techniques to refill your parent cup.
> Reduce reactivity and impatience so you can remain connected even during times of stress.
> How to nurture connection when your baby is calm and alert.
> Rewire your brains for resilience. Not only are you filling your cup, but you are learning to expand the size of your cup and the amount you can hold.
> Nurture your stress system and learn how to return and repair when you become reactive.
> Live in your values as a parent and align your actions with how you want to show up in relation to your children. -

Grow Your Baby’s Brain: Nurturing Infant Stress
Building Connection and Managing Stress for Optimal Brain Development.
-
Parenting a new baby or toddler can be stressful, and it's normal to feel overwhelmed or disconnected at times. This interactive workshop will provide guidance on managing these moments of stress while also promoting the healthy development of your infant/child.
During this workshop, we will dive into the science behind the development of an infant's brain and the crucial role that connection plays in this process. These connections have a significant impact on both the structural development of the brain and its underlying genetics. Throughout the workshop, we will provide you with the knowledge and strategies to promote optimal growth and emotional regulation in your baby, even in times of stress and overwhelm!
Our primary focus will be on nurturing these connections and discovering practical tools to foster a strong sense of nurtured presence and empathy. You will gain a deeper understanding of your role in your baby's stress response, learn effective methods for soothing your baby, and recognize those moments where co-regulation can be fostered or repaired. -

Welcome to The Nurture Revolution! Transforming lives by improving the mental health of babies and parents is my life's work. Throughout my neuroscience career at The University of Toronto and Columbia University, with training at NYU and Yale - I have studied how genetics and experience shape the brain, nervous system and body to influence lifelong mental and physical health. As a neuroscientist, doula, mother and educator, I am passionate about bringing this knowledge to families to create a nurtured future for our babies and the planet.
